Wow. Writing about yourself seems easy till you have to do it! Feels super weird, but here we are and here we go! I am Willis, owner of Willis J Entertainment. I’ve been a DJ for almost 20 years, I honestly believe I have an unmatched love for music. A military brat, growing up in a household with a Bronx born West Indian mother and a southern Dad, who both kept music constantly playing in the house; it was inevitable that music ended up being my 1st love. As a self-proclaimed “OG Millennial”, I have the luxury of being an 80s baby, 90s kid/teenager and a young adult in the 2000s. Between my parents diverse musical influences and living during the influences of some of the best eras in music (Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Grunge, Metal, Neo-Soul, Alternative, R&B, the list goes on), there’s nothing I can’t play and not just play it, but actually feel it. I used to make mixtapes for friends and family, from recording music from my parent’s records collection to burning CDs on my computer, Djing was just the obvious next step.

Funny enough, becoming a DJ fell into my lap when at my own wedding consultation with my wife and I’s DJ, that I was asked by the owner after talking extensively about music if I wanted to become a DJ. BLEW.MY.MIND. It was like getting the Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory! The rest is history. I started DJing for a few companies, and that led to a chance encounter with a venue coordinator who highly recommended that I branch off on my own and thus began Willis J Entertainment at the end of 2015.

When it comes to my relationship with my couples, I hold them in the highest regards. Honestly, without them, there’s none of this beautiful DJ life I’ve been living. So, with feeling that deeply, I never take them for granted or treat them like just another gig. So much so, that a bunch of my former couples just end up becoming good friends. Who better to DJ for you than a good friend who just so happens to be a pretty great dope DJ?😊

Hello, My name is Marie Buie and I came to be a Day Of Wedding Coordinator when I planned my own wedding back in 2008. Honestly, I was surprised with how easy and smooth the whole process was…until the day came and I had no one to facilitate the schedule. I hadn’t thought about that part until the rehearsal dinner when someone asked ‘who will let everyone know when to walk down the aisle?’ Thankfully, I have wonderful friends and one who was not in the wedding volunteered and it was a success! Hence, why I feel like what I do is so important for wedding parties which is to ease the stress of the day that is supposed to be “One of the best days of their lives!” What I enjoy most about what I do is getting to do these events with my husband since he is a DJ for weddings. We both have a strong love of music and movies and the fact we get to do this for a living is a dream come true.
